Have you ever ice-skated? We could go to the lake, I don't think it will snow today despite how the sky looks.

While I appreciate the effort from the Malnosso to bring in the Christmas mood... I still would have preferred to be able to decorate the house myself and decide what lights it has and all that. Guess we could still do it despite this.

How many of you are spending Christmas here for the first time? Or even hearing the term Christmas for the first time, I guess there are many of those. If you're curious, Christmas is basically a winter holiday, it has religious background but it also has a pagan tradition. Back on Earth many different religions and countries have it or an equivalent holiday. In simple terms it's a way to celebrate the end of the year and the start of the new one, also there's a tradition of giving and receiving gifts on the 25th, which is Christmas day. Or getting them from Santa Claus, or the Malnosso like last year.

It's a holiday to spend with friends, family and loved ones... Does everyone have someone to celebrate it with?

By the way, anyone has some advice to share regarding what to do for a special girl on Christmas? I don't mean regarding gifts, I have that covered, but... You know, getting her somewhere or doing something special, I suppose. It doesn't have to be necessarily romantic, it's preferred if it's not too romantic, even.

[The frown on his face persists, but it's not angry, just a bit hurt even with her words. He knows she doesn't think like that, she wouldn't let him say those things if she thought so, but still even if it's a joke or just a way to make herself be strong, it hurts. He knows what she thinks, it doesn't take a genius to figure why she may not like him saying those things.

In Luceti there's no such a thing as forever. Promises made, swears, they all mean nothing the moment one is sent back home, because memories disappear and they will just continue their lives without any second thoughts. That's what fate dictates. That's how the rules of this world work.

But he has defied the rules of a world before, it took many tries and a lot of time, but he did it. They challenged the rules and broke them, they destroyed the imposed fate. Maybe Rika won't reach adulthood after all, maybe she just avoided Takano to go and die in a traffic accident a week later. No one knows, there's no such a thing as forever. But it can be done. Even if he's sent back... He believes there's a way for another miracle to happen. If he believes strongly enough, if the friends he meets here wish for it strongly enough, maybe one day he will go with his father to one of his expositions, maybe he will meet many people there and among those will be a member of a certain wealthy family, among whose members is a little red haired girl who loves her older brother dearly. Maybe one day, he will get to work as a social worker and meet a blue haired boy who has lost all his family in an accident and whose relatives don't care enough to keep him with them for long. Or maybe... Maybe that future he saw and dislikes will happen after all, maybe he will become a wizard, and maybe that wizard will gain the memories the piece lost.

The solutions aren't perfect, but they are there but if he doesn't believe in them he will never be able to reach them.]

It's okay... I know you don't really think so...

[His hands squeeze hers a bit again as he looks into her eyes...

But now is not the moment. It's not a good time yet, something tells him so. So he slides back a bit, his hand leaving her waist and searching for her other hand.]

Seems you're already used to standing on ice, you're not shaking that much. Want to try to skate a bit?

[ Although there's obviously still something of the thoughts and feelings lingering - and she knows that Keiichi knows too, it's easy to just feel in the air that they're both thinking about the same thing, even if it would most likely weigh heavier on her than on Keiichi, considering her negative kind of thinking. But at least when he moves back a bit of the tension disappears, enough so she makes her swallow again and at least act a little bit like normal again. ]

[ She can do this. Just act normal. Like there's nothing special going on here, even as she reaches out so they're holding both of their hands together now. ]

I didn't know you were that much into pair ice skating though.

Would you prefer if I left you to fall and hurt yourself? Skating is fun, when you're prepared and in company, alone it's pretty lonely anyway.

I didn't say it was anything bad. I was just wondering if you enjoyed that sort of thing, that's all.

... Besides, at least now I'll take you with me if I fall, huh.

That's a cruel idea, you know. Shouldn't you prefer to not drag me along?

[He's not complaining though, you know he will go willingly even if she protests. He's the kind of guy who will go to suicideland if she goes even if she is against it.]

I enjoy being with someone I care about and doing something that it's fun. Is that enough of an answer?

You were the one who said you would fall with me, Keiichi.

[ At least most of the tense atmosphere is gone now - enough for her lips to tug up very, very slightly at the corners when she says that. ]

Yeah, I guess I'll accept that as an answer. This doesn't really seem like anything bothersome to me either.

But even if I said so, shouldn't you be "no, let me fall alone"? Not that I'll listen, but...

[He smiles back, yes, back, he saw that slight tug up. Not hard to do so when he's looking at nothing but her.]

I'm glad to hear that. You're doing quite well, too, that's great.

Exactly. I already know you won't listen if I tell you to just let me fall on my own and move on by yourself, so there's no use in saying. Yeah, it's definitely all useless. You're apparently just too stubborn of a guy for me.

[ It's hard to not slightly have fun at a moment like this after all, especially with him of all people. Even for someone like Ange. ]

I actually expected it to be a little more difficult, but.. it seems it's mostly a case of knowing how to keep a good balance.

It's not as if you're not stubborn yourself, Ange.

[He laughs a bit.]

The secret is to not panic. And keep a good balance, yes.

Of course I'm just stubborn too. Because I'll just keep insisting that I'll fall all by myself and you should just stay standing no matter what, even if I say something else out loud like right now. You can't change my mind that easily.

You can't change mine either. I think we will have to agree to disagree and just do whatever we want, huh?

Sure, that sounds good for me for now. Agreeing to disagree.. Perfect for two stubborn people like us who will refuse to change their mind either way.

See? It's not that hard for us to agree, after all.

[Don't mind him as he starts to slowly slide in a circle around you, making you twirl as he does so. Almost like some sort of awkward ice-dance.]

[ It takes a few moments for her to realise what he's doing, but then she actually looks a little surprised - enough that she almost loses her balance, but she manages to keep standing up at least. ]

What are you doing, Keiichi? A dance? [ it almost sounds incredulous. ]

Whoah!

[They waver a bit when she almost loses her balance, but thanks to her recovering they are soon safe. He stops when she asks that, laughing like an idiot ~~which he is~~]

Do you want to dance with me, Ange?

[ ~~the biggest idiot. it's why she loves him, okay.~~ ]

What a bold question. [ she can't help but respond with her own deadpan again, even if it's not entirely meant now. ]

I guess just this once can't hurt, huh?

[He stops so they just stand there again.]

Hmmm, if you're willing to allow me a dance with you and only one maybe I should claim for that right at another moment. A better moment, basically.

[ There's a moment of silence, and it's almost like she's close to just biting her lip for a few moments.. but then instead she starts spinning around a little, still holding his hands so he will move along too. ]

I'm willing to give you more chances at it than that. So.. it would be okay right now. [ Because she wants it too. ]

[He blinks at the spinning, now it's his turn to be surprised before he smiles widely. Man, he used to think he had gotten it hard with Rena, but compared to Ange that was like just being hit by a car. Ange is like being hit by a train moving at light speed.]

Really?! Then it's definitively more than okay to do it right now as well.

[He joins the spinning so they end almost twirling all around the place. Not too fast so they don't get dizzy, though, as he holds her hands tightly and closer to his chest.]

[ ... Yeah. It's fun, definitely fun. Even she can't deny that, not even to herself like she usually does. It's not just the action itself, but maybe mostly just the fact that she's doing it with Keiichi that actually makes her feel happy, and she can't surpress the smile that appears on her face. It's not quite as wide as his', but it's definitely there and easy to spot. ]

I guess we're not making as much of a fool out of ourselves as we feared, huh? [ she squeezes his hands lightly. ]

[Are you trying to kill him, Ange? Because just seeing that smile makes him feel like flying or something and the crash will be brutal from that height. He laughs as she speaks, feeling her hands squeezing his a bit. You know, he doesn't think he would mind to be stuck in a strange loop repeating this ice-skating "date", or whatever it is, for the rest of his life.]

I never feared making a fool of myself. But if you're feeling disappointed I suppose we could fall together and get to know the ice more personally.

[ Killing him softly.. And be careful what you wish for, Keiichi, soon this will be made in some When They Cry game too and you'll repeat this date forever and then they'll both be horribly murdered after it every single time. ]

No, thanks, I'd rather not have the ice in my address book, it's too cool for me. [ did she just.. make a joke.. (the world is ending.) ] Unless you're masochistic enough to go and try, Keiichi.

And here I thought you were really cool yourself.

Well... Some would say I'm that, but I don't feel in the mood for it now. I prefer to stay up here with you.

I don't think I can beat the ice in that department quite yet though.

[ how bold, admitting to a girl people would say you're a masochist.. ]

Then I guess it's really okay for the two of us to get away from this unscathed, without any falls.

[So long as she's not a sadist it shouldn't be a problem.]
