While I appreciate the effort from the Malnosso to bring in the Christmas mood... I still would have preferred to be able to decorate the house myself and decide what lights it has and all that. Guess we could still do it despite this.

How many of you are spending Christmas here for the first time? Or even hearing the term Christmas for the first time, I guess there are many of those. If you're curious, Christmas is basically a winter holiday, it has religious background but it also has a pagan tradition. Back on Earth many different religions and countries have it or an equivalent holiday. In simple terms it's a way to celebrate the end of the year and the start of the new one, also there's a tradition of giving and receiving gifts on the 25th, which is Christmas day. Or getting them from Santa Claus, or the Malnosso like last year.

It's a holiday to spend with friends, family and loved ones... Does everyone have someone to celebrate it with?

By the way, anyone has some advice to share regarding what to do for a special girl on Christmas? I don't mean regarding gifts, I have that covered, but... You know, getting her somewhere or doing something special, I suppose. It doesn't have to be necessarily romantic, it's preferred if it's not too romantic, even.

Well, I'm only turned eighteen this year, I know it's not a bad age for it but it's too soon. I don't believe in getting married right away or whatever.

[A year or two of dating doesn't sound bad before considering marriage... Though there are always exceptions but, really, just the idea of dating is problematic here, imagine getting married.]

But as much as he tries Keiichi can't change the way he himself feels and thinks, neither the way Hughes is now. At least he can try to become friends with Hughes again, he honestly didn't have big expectations even before, though it was nice to know he was allowed to think of the man as a second father.]

A-Actually I have a daily routine of training, for the case I may be drafted, you know? I don't want to fight but I don't want to go there just to die, or be a burden. So I started training and I picked up push-knives as my main weapon, but I'm still learning. I know you have more practice so I was wondering if you wouldn't mind to supervise me from time to time. Help me to improve and such.

The other thing is I was wondering if you, Gracia-san and Elicia-chan would ever be up to to out to have dinner with Ange and me. Or come home to have dinner with all of us, it could be a bit crowded since then it would be five people on our part, though.

[The silence freaks him out. Did he make a mistake? Maybe he shouldn't have asked after all, maybe it's way too soon to try to build those bridges. Or did he sound too desperate? Did it slip in his tone just how much those two things meant for him? He had tried to word them casually so it wouldn't be noticed but...

He's fishing for a way to do damage control when the reply finally comes. I'd love to, of course... It's Hughes after all, the same man who loves his family more than anything in the world, who can talk about his daughter and shower you with pictures of her for weeks before he gets tired of it. A good man who doesn't hesitate to help when he can do so and knows when to be funny and when to get serious. Memories or not, those things are the same, so of course he would accept, no matter if he found it weird or anything, it's not as if Keiichi had given him reasons to be wary of him. He sighs in relief and takes a few moments before he dares to answer, once he's sure he won't sound like a little kid.]
