He hasn't dropped by Minato's house since he met Junpei yesterday, he just doesn't know how to look at Minato so he has chosen to avoid him for a bit. He will dedicate his day to visit the flowershop, remembering that girl turned into an airship from the experiment back in January, it has been a while since it happened but... February was too chaotic for him to remember that he wanted to check on her. He will also drop by the Welcome Center to help anyone who may need it there. And the library.

Other than that he may get caught almost anywhere in the village.]

[He had still hoped that it wasn't true. Up until now, even if Shiki's expression indicated otherwise. He wanted to believe it was different. If at least they hadn't known he could have fooled himself to believe that it could be some sort of alternate universe after all. But it's not.

He looks as if he's about to cry, but he doesn't care. He just... Wears a heartbroken expression as he stares at Shiki. A small part, a small and weak part still wants to ask if she's sure, if she's serious... But she wouldn't lie with something like that, she wouldn't say it if she didn't believe it. Still, she can't help the sad sympathetic look she's also giving Keiichi.] It's all so complicated, isn't it? It almost makes me hate the Malnosso more; it's like they know these things about us, and that's why they bring us here so we can interact with people and then be set up for disappointment. [It's a bit of a stretch, yeah, but it's a decent theory in her opinion. However, once Keiichi repeats that last sentence she realizes that maaaaybe she shouldn't have said that.]

It's easier when the worlds are clearly different, that way the status of the other person doesn't matter. You wouldn't be able to ever see them again once you returned.

[But he had wanted so much for Minato's and his world to be the same. He had wanted to so frigging much... But now... Now he doesn't know if he wants that or not.

As for Shiki... No, there's no way to make that sound better.]

But when the worlds aren't different...[She knows where he's going with this. Really. It's odd to think about what would happen if she could meet her friends at home. Haruki gave her his phone number when he was here and told her to call him when they went back home. Minato and Shiki are about the same age at home. But this isn't about that.]

After things settled down...you know how things get around here when the Malnosso start screwing around with us.

And when aren't they screwing around with us? if it's not an experiment it's a draft, if not it's the New Feathers cycle and if it's not either of that? We may very well get again a psycho throwing the entire forest over us or something like that.

I think things were settled down already, as much as they could be in this place.

Okay point, but Keiichi think about it...would you have been able to announce something like that right away? Barely anybody knows that Minato's basically a zombie in the first place.

I don't mean that he should tell everyone but... I told him. He could have told me it back then...

It's a bit complicated... Uhm... I have some sort of consciousness of... Other worlds, I mean, other versions of my world. It's like when you read one of those "choose your own end" books, you make choices here and there and get one end. And some time later, when you barely remember the choices you made, you read the book again and at some points you're "hey I know this" and choose a different path...

My world... Hinamizawa... We were kind of trapped in a time loop and I kind of keep memories of some of the things that happened in previous loops. Things like... Me dying... Several times.

But I'm alive! This me, is alive... After dozens of repetitions in which I usually died...

[...just. Staring. What the hell, why is it that every boy she's ever met has some kind of secret?]

Ah, no! I mean, there's no need because it's over now! The loop is over, we broke through it, that's why I'm alive and fine and all. Think of it as a video-game, I would be from the 'good ending' and without any need to go back to a previous saved file.

Back when Haruki was sent home, so, a few months ago.

[Because Haruki knew the whole story, Minato didn't but both were allies. However upon losing Haruki he felt that Minato deserved to know too and thus he told him.]

...and did Haruki know, too? [Of course that's her next question, because she's trying to remember how much of Haruki's story Keiichi knows. This whole thing is all kinds of complicated.]

Actually I didn't realize about the loop until Haruki told me. I had those... Deja vú feelings and strange dream-like memories but assumed they were just nightmares or so. Not that they had been, well, real.
