Sorry to bother you both but, can I talk with you? There's been something in my mind lately and I would like your opinions on the matter.

He hasn't dropped by Minato's house since he met Junpei yesterday, he just doesn't know how to look at Minato so he has chosen to avoid him for a bit. He will dedicate his day to visit the flowershop, remembering that girl turned into an airship from the experiment back in January, it has been a while since it happened but... February was too chaotic for him to remember that he wanted to check on her. He will also drop by the Welcome Center to help anyone who may need it there. And the library.

Whoever would want to say things like that? But there are things that have to be said. You think I liked it when I told you about my world? About what Rika had gone through, about the times I had died or killed?

Why not? Either way, whether you tell me or someone else did, I would end sad and hurt. And I hate it, I hate the idea that my best friend is someone whom I can only reach to while being here, because either he's not born or he's dead back home. But it's how things are and I know you well enough to honestly not be entirely surprised by it. If I'm going to end hurt either way, it would have been better if you did it yourself.

[He just.... goes quiet. He knows all that Keiichi, are you going to beat him up for being too chicken to spoil your hopes?]

[The silence makes him fall silent too. He's angry but not with Minato or with anyone just... With life in general. Honestly he doesn't know if it would have been better if Minato shot his hopes down earlier or by himself, but... This hurts so much that there can't be many things that can compare.]

[The word "research" is an obvious trigger, Keiichi's expression darkness a bit before he shakes it off. Junpei said that everything was all right, that they had beat the bad guys.]

That research, was it related to the Personas? I mean, those Evokers you use, they have had to be made somewhere, by someone, it's not something one just gets out of the top of their head.

Right. The scientists were researching Shadows. They gathered together a large number of them and ended up creating another Shadow called Death.

... Did they know what they were doing?

Some did. The point wasn't to help humanity, or anything like that. We didn't learn this until much later, but Kirijo wanted to cause the 'Fall'. That is.... to end the world by calling down Nyx, the being responsible for creating death in the first place.

... I don't think anything that ends creating a Shadow named Death is for the good of anyone...

[He listens anyway. People doing a research and ending wanting to trigger an event that causes the end of the world... Sounds pretty familiar even if this is big scale like.]

... Wait, you said it was Mitsuru-senpai's grandfather who was in charge, right? Then that happened when you were just a kid, is your world post-apocalyptic? Or did something happen that interrupted the process? I had thought that your world was rather normal.

[he shakes his head] It's normal... One of the scientists realized what was happening. But the only way he could stop it was to cause an explosion and releasing Death.

How did that stop it? I just can't imagine anything with the name of Death on it to be something good to have hanging around the world without care.
